How The Nomad works

Solve problems yourself

We always check our motorhomes before departure. Nevertheless, unexpected problems can occur. In the case of some messages, you can simply drive on or rectify the problem yourself.

Oil change: You receive the message 'Oil change'. This means that the oil needs to be changed during the next service. For the time being, you can simply continue driving.
Oil pressure: This lamp lights up when the oil pressure is too low. This may indicate a low oil level. You can top up the oil yourself. Only do this when the engine is warm. Do not top up with too much oil. The oil level should be between the minimum and maximum markings. Coolant temperature: This display warns you if the engine temperature is too high. It may indicate a problem with the cooling system, e.g. a defective radiator or a low coolant level. Pull over and allow the engine to cool down to prevent damage. Call the breakdown service.
Battery charge: This light indicates that the motorhome battery is not sufficiently charged. This may indicate a problem with the alternator or the battery itself. It is advisable to restrict the electrical systems and call the breakdown service.
Brake system: This light can indicate various problems with the brake system, e.g. worn brake pads, a defective brake calliper or a problem with the brake system in general. It is important to have the brakes checked as soon as possible. Call the breakdown service.

First make sure that the gas cylinder is fully open, is not empty and that the crash sensor has not been triggered (the yellow pin must be pointing inwards). If the gas cylinder is empty, replace it with the second gas cylinder. Check whether you can now get gas from the gas stove in the interior. Also check that the gas hose is properly vented. There is a red or black button on the gas hose. You can press this several times. Still no gas? Check that there is no error message on the display (normally E517H). This means that you have switched on the boiler or the heating even though the gas was not turned on or the gas cylinder was empty. First switch off the boiler and the heating. Then turn on the gas cylinder and check the gas stove to see if gas is present. You can then delete the error message by clicking on it.

  1. First check whether the water is switched on. This button is located on the display above the door.
  2. Make sure that the hot water boiler is closed in this way, otherwise the water may run down and the tap will not work properly.

Check whether the battery is switched on. This is normally done by switching on the display (above the door). Check that the plug is inserted correctly. If the plug is not plugged in, this may mean that the battery is flat. The battery is charged while driving or when connected to the mains. The sockets do not work if the motorhome is not connected to the mains. Have you charged the battery overnight, but it is still flat? Then the battery is probably faulty. Please contact us.

  1. First check whether you have power.
  2. Check that the plug is inserted correctly.
  3. Is the refrigerator still not working? Check whether the refrigerator is running on gas.
  4. Is the fridge still not working? Then it may be that the campsite or pitch does not supply enough amps to get the fridge working.
  1. First check that the motorhome is level. Chocks can be used to level the motorhome.
  2. Check that there is no waste in the drains. If necessary, you can clean the pipes with ammonia.
  3. Is the water draining slowly? That is normal. The pipes are small.
  1. Make sure that the transponder (black cover on the key) is in the motorhome.
  2. Does the engine still not start? Then the transponder battery could be flat. There is a black spare key on the key ring that you can hold up to the alarm system. This is usually located under the glove compartment. Is it not working? Then call the number +49 8033 3081330.
  3. Is the engine still not starting? Then it's best to call our breakdown hotline.
